Some Successes

I've not had a particularly good day at work today. I won't bore you with the details but let's just say that office politics has got me in a stew and I've been worrying about one thing or another since I got home from work. But, I'm determined to look at the positives as life is too short to dwell.

The first bit of good news is that Phil has got a new phone which means that he has signal where he works and now we can actually speak on the phone and text. Now all we need is for him to get a new car and then we're away! And it also means I won't have to literally slap myself driving back on the M25 at ridiculous times of the night trying to stay awake. I drove him back to work yesterday and it was lovely to spend an extra hour and a half in the car with him and on the way back (until I started falling asleep) I had a lovely loud sing to some rather cheesy songs. It was a 200+ mile round trip which is actually quite a long way to do in one go and now I'm rather concerned abou this wedding I'm going to in Lincoln on Saturday because it'll be over 6 hours of driving in one day for me and it looks like Phil might not be able to go because of a work commitment. I really hope he manages to swap with someone else I'll have to get the train. It's going to cost a fortune to get there and back one way or another. I might not be able to eat by the end of the month!

Anyway, more positives before I sink into the depths of despair: I finished my tank top. It fitted and everything, no baggy back and one girl at work even asked me where I bought it from. I was thrilled!

And today I finished my mum's birthday bag. It's come out ok really. Much better than I thought as I was beginning to lose faith in it. It took all evening to sew the handles on, the lining in and sew the flower on the front. I only used one flower in the end because I think it looks nicer with only one. And it's all done and ready for Mum's birthday on Friday.

Now all I've got to do is write my essay for uni by Friday and all will be good in the world! Tomorrow is Phil's birthday so I may be doing the 200+ mile round trip to see him after work tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday there's knitting on. Christ knows when I'll be able to get to the gym this week as I was supposed to go tonight but urgent present finishing was required.

And whilst we're on the subject of going to knitting, I discovered that it will take me up to an hour and forty minutes to get to London once I move to Maidstone so I may have to considerably cut the amount of meetings I go to. I love being so near London, it's going to be hard moving so far away.

Well, I almost managed to not be gloomy, but I don't think it's worked! I hope I don't sound too stressed out either. I shall write again when happier things are happening. It's almost time for bed and I'm already dreading work tomorrow. At least I have Friday off and then I start a new unit on Tuesday.
